Peru Central School Board to hold budget discussion
PERU — The Peru Central School Board will hold its next "community conversation" to aid in budget development at 7:20 p.m. Monday in the High School cafeteria.
Residents at this session will be asked to help identify:
▶ Ways public education may be changing over the next three years in Clinton County due to continued gaps between forecasted revenues and expenditures.
▶ How instructional programs or support operations at Peru Central could be suitably revamped with reduced cost.
▶ Topics for the ad-hoc task force on grade six to consider in regard to possible assignment of that grade to the elementary-grades program.
The School Board will then hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the community room adjacent to the main entrance of Peru High School.
An executive session will begin immediately associated with the performance history of certain employees.
The board will reconvene at about 7:30 p.m. Agenda items include discussion of the $3.1 million projected gap between revenue and expenditures estimated for 2012-13, which preliminary projections show could necessitate loss of at least 10 full-time positions and reduction in hours for 11 other jobs.
