Country show on tap at fair tonight

MORRISONVILLE — Country singer Hunter Hayes performs at the Clinton County Fair at 8 tonight.

Front-gate admission for the fair today is $8 per person, with kids age 12 and under free. Admission for the Hayes show, which is sponsored by 97.5 Eagle Country Radio and Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, is $13 for grandstand seating and $18 for track (does not include gate admission).

It’s also “Evening Madness” Wristband Day, where $17 covers rides from 7 p.m. to closing.

Exhibit buildings are open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; parking is free at the fair.

Here’s the schedule for today:

8 a.m.: 4-H Western Classes in the PrimeLink Horse Arena.

9 a.m.: FFA Showmanship of Cattle in the Denton Publications & Suburban Propane Cattle Barn.

10 a.m.: 4-H Beef Show.

Noon: Carnival rides start.

Noon to 9 p.m.: 4-H Dairy Bar open.

Noon to 1 p.m.: Zumba on the Curtis Lumber Stage.

12:30 p.m.: Mini-Horse Pull on the infield of the Graymont Materials NY Inc. Fair Race Track, sponsored by Chauvin Agency.

1 p.m.: Gymkhana in the PrimeLink Horse Arena.

1 to 3 p.m.: Back Porch Band at the Stewart’s Shops Gazebo.

1, 4 and 7:30 p.m.: Masters of the Chainsaw Sculptors sponsored by Key R-D Trailer Sales & Tammy Perrotte Sears RE/MAX North Country.

1:30 to 3 p.m.: Weigh-in for Horse Pull.

1:30, 3:30 and 6:30 p.m.: The Magic of Lance Gifford & Company sponsored by Walmart.

2, 4 and 7 p.m.: Pipsqueaks Party Time Clown Show sponsored by Price Chopper on the Children’s Stage.

2 to 4 p.m.: 4-H public presentation in the 4-H Building.

2, 5 and 7 p.m.: Buffalo Barfield’s “Unherd-of-Entertainment,” sponsored by Bath Fitter.

3 to 4 p.m.: Zumba on the Curtis Lumber Stage.

3:15 p.m.: Horse Pull pit meeting.

3:30 p.m.: Horse Pull on the infield of the Graymont Materials NY Inc. Fair Race Track, sponsored by Chauvin Agency.

5 p.m.: Michigan-eating Contest in the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo sponsored by McSweeney’s Red Hots, $5 entry fee; first place $100, second place $50, third place $25.

6 p.m.: Coin Hunt in the Sawdust Pile, sponsored by UFirst FCU, GP Community FCU, Dannemora FCU, TD Bank & Peru Central School FCU.

6:30 p.m.: Master Hypnotist Michael Blaine on the Curtis Lumber Stage.

7:30 p.m.: North Country’s Got Talent qualifying round at the Lance Gifford Stage. Qualifiers will go on to Friday night semi-final show. Sponsored by Pepsi, 97.5 Eagle Country Radio, Kneucraft Fine Jewelry, Cumberland 12 Cinemas & Reithoffer Shows Inc.

8 p.m.: Hunter Hayes on the Casella Waste Management Stage at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Grandstands.

8 to 10 p.m.: The Lou Allen Show at the Stewart’s Shop Gazebo.
