Mayor's Cup begins today

PLATTSBURGH — Festivities kick off today for the 35th-annual Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Mayor’s Cup Regatta and Festival.

The sailboat race takes place on Lake Champlain on Saturday, but many events happen before and after on land, mostly in the City of Plattsburgh.

Here’s the schedule:

Thursday

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clinton County Youth Bureau’s 12th-annual Thomas J. O’Connor Memorial Summer Hoops for Youth Tournament. Dock Street parking lot.

3 p.m. Wilcox Dock Community Pavilion dedication.

4:30 to 5:30 p.m. North Country Cultural Center for the Arts news conference and unveiling of Adirondack Coast ARTWays project winner. 23 Brinkerhoff St.

5:30 to 7 p.m. Jumpin’ in July party with Jack Grace Band. On the Arts Center lawn at 23 Brinkerhoff St.

9 to 10 p.m. sixth-annual Boat Parade of Lights and Competition. Wilcox Dock to the Naked Turtle.

FRIDAY

7 to 9 p.m. Glengarry Bhoys perform. Lions Club Bandshell near the Macdonough Monument.

SATURDAY

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mayor’s Cup Regatta.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cultural Center for the Arts family arts entertainment activities, 23 Brinkerhoff St.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Behavioral Health Services North Kids Activities for 2- to 6-year-olds on the lawn of City Hall.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Women on the Waterfront. Presented at Kent-Delord House.

12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Champlain Classic Car Cruisers at City Hall Place.

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mayor’s Cup BBQ and Awards Ceremony. Naked Turtle.

5 p.m. Plattsburgh Roller Derby. Lumber Jills vs. Oz Roller Girls. Plattsburgh City Gym and Recreation Center.

6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mayor’s Cup Sunset Tour. Kayak Shack at Baggs Landing.

6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Rick Davies and the Bearcat Ramblers. Lions Club Bandshell near the MacDonough Monument.

8 p.m. The Gibson Brothers bluegrass band. Lions Club Bandshell.

9:30 p.m. Mayor’s Cup fireworks, downtown.

SUNDAY

9 a.m. CVPH Mayor’s Cup Bike Ride. Begins at CVPH Medical Center.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Second-annual Amazing Grace Vineyard Arts Festival, Route 9, Chazy.
