Booster Club case due back in court

BEEKMANTOWN — The Plattsburgh man accused in September of stealing from the Beekmantown Booster Club is due back in court next week.

Mark J. Fragassi, 35, was charged with third-degree grand larceny and third-degree falsifying business records, both felonies. He is accused of stealing more than $25,000 from the club, of which he became treasurer in 2006.

At his court date in January, Fragassi was in front of Beekmantown Justice Russell Lawliss for roughly 10 minutes, but his lawyer was in attendance only via telephone so no action was taken.

Nick Evanovich, assistant district attorney for Clinton County, told the court that day that it is a case they "are working very hard on."

Fragassi is scheduled to reappear at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29.
